Commercial Swimming Pools & Spas

There are many types of Swimming Pools & Spas which operate commercially and as a result require special design considerations and management. Jetform has a variety of services and schemes geared toward commercial facilities. All our commercial work is carried out in accordance with the new PWTAG Code of Practice released in January 2013.

Commercial Swimming Pool types include:

  • Municipal

  • Leisure and Club

For commercial clients, the needs often vary from pool to pool, so a choice of flexible tailored schemes and services are available. These often include management reports ensuring the operator is confident that their swimming pool maintains the high standards required by the HSE.

Let us help!

We have a large variety of services we can offer commercial clients and facilities. These include:

  • Training
  • Surveys and reports
  • Microbiological testing
  • Maintenance contracts
  • Equipment servicing
  • Water treatment systems
  • Microbiological testing

Microbiological problems should not occur in a well-designed and operated swimming pool or spa with an adequate disinfectant residual, correct pH and properly timed back-washing of filters. Nevertheless, in commercial installations, there is a requirement for microbiological testing of pool water on a monthly basis. It is also important that these results are inter-operated and the appropriate action taken.

Health & Safety Training

The manager or pool operator is responsible under the Health and Safety at Work, etc Act 1974 for ensuring, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health and safety of employees at work and others who may be affected by the undertaking. This includes protecting the public who use the swimming pool.

Jetform can carry out training sessions for any people directly involved with your facility and carry out on site training tailored specifically to your pool and equipment.

We can also help you prepare for you’re under the 1974 Health and Safety at Work Act as well as the new PWTAG (Pool Water Treatment Advisory Group) by assisting in the preparation of the following

  • Preparation of EAP (emergency action plan) in consultation with site staff
  • COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to health) sheets
  • Risk assessment and Method statements
  • Set up record keeping procedures and brief on site staff in their ongoing maintenance including maintenance logs, chemical testing logs, MSDS sheets and microbiological action plans.

Refurbishment of commercial swimming pools and spas has become an important part of our business.

Automatic Dosing Systems

It is a requirement for commercial pool to have automatic dosing. The specification of dosing equipment should only be done after a survey and assessment to ensure the appropriate equipment and chemicals are specified. The installation is carried out so in accordance with the PWTAG code of practice as well as a specific risk assessment

We can also specify and install PAC (Poly Aluminium Chloride) dosing so as to meet your obligations under the code of practice to protect your swimmers from the threat of Cryptosporidium which is a bug which is resistant to chlorine

The installation of Ultraviolet disinfectant is also recommended and we can specify a system appropriate to you needs.
